Risk and Crisis Management Unit

The Risk and Crisis Management Unit, part of the Department of Construction and Projects at the university, analyzes and evaluates the university's risks and develops strategies and procedures to address them. The unit collects data from all departments and colleges within the university, as well as from laboratories and research centers, to identify weaknesses and strengths regarding risks and disasters.

The unit performs the following tasks:

  • Analyzing the historical record of risks that the university has faced and the consequences that resulted from them. These records are analyzed to determine the likelihood of these risks occurring in the future and to provide recommendations and plans to address them. The statistics collected by the Risk and Crisis Management Unit team include the number of students, staff, and faculty members and the number of colleges, laboratories, and critical buildings such as the Sandwich Panel and Alucobond.

  • Analyzing these statistics to identify potential risks and critical infrastructure that should be focused on in risk management plans. The Risk and Crisis Management Unit builds capacity and enhances preparedness for potential dangers and disasters.

  • Organizing workshops and training sessions for staff and relevant members to enhance their awareness of best practices and emergency procedures.

  • The Risk and Crisis Management Unit prepares regular reports and provides them to the supporting team of the ministerial committee for auditing and analysis purposes. These reports include an analysis of key risks and critical infrastructure, as well as recommendations to enhance risk management at the university.

The Risk and Crisis Management Unit is vital in the university's efforts to mitigate risks and ensure its preparedness to deal with potential disasters. This unit enhances the university's ability to continue providing its educational and research services safely and effectively and protects university community members and properties.
